So it's not about me,
I guess it's all about you,
No matter what I say or do
to confirm that I'm true.

I opened up and gave you some of my soul,
instead you took it another way,
now I'm left confused and wondering
while you're the one that's in control.

Didn't think that I could possibly hurt anymore
than what I've already been through,
until the day that I gave in
and gave it all up to you.

What you see in others I refuse to get,
when I'm the one that's holding on
trying to get through and make you see
but you won't notice until I'm gone.

So I ask, were you ever here for me?
Or did you just need me to past the time
while you were out on the rebound
from some so-called dime.

Right now it's all so puzzling to me,
how I'm still willing to give this a chance,
rather than give up on you
and pick another tune on which to dance.

But trust me when I say,
I can only be here for so long,
because by the time you realize what you had,
I would have gotten tired of all your wrong.
